Life is what you make itbut to make a fulfilling life, you need to go above and beyond.

The brain makes up only 2% of our body mass, yet consumes around 20% of our energy. To conserve energy, its wired to favor the easy pathhumans are lazy by default.

Back on the savanna, we had no choice but to expend huge amounts of energyand risk our livesfor food, water, and shelter. Fast forward to now: we live in a society engineered for convenience. It takes just a ten-millionth of a calorie to click a mouse and have food delivered to your door. No more hunting. No more life-threatening encounters with large birds of prey.

Modern life reinforces our default programming to conserve effortthrough effortless transport, instant meals, and infinite scrolling. And so, many of us stay in the comfort zone until its time to kick the bucket.

But the same rules still govern reality: high risk, high return and no pain, no gain.
If your comfort zone truly meets your needs, theres no problem. But if you feel a gap between the life you have and the life you want, it means going above and beyond.

Beyond is a reminder: if the comfort zone cant fulfill you, youll need to trade ease for effort, and certainty for risk. The bigger your dreams, the taller the hurdlesand the harder the falls when you trip.

And you will trip. Itll hurt. But with each fall, you gain something the comfort zone could never offer: the strength and insight to face the next hurdle better prepared.
